I found an interesting article produced by SPORTAUS which lists a range of benefits that physical education has on children. It is worth having a read and the relevant sections are set over probably 6 or 7 pages, so not too long. Please have a look and this will give you a better understanding of why having an active lifestyle is so important to children and for that matter adults as well.

The Grade 5/6 students have just completed a 3 week netball clinic provided by Netball Victoria. Thanks Yvette for conducting the clinics. The students learned how to play the game, focusing heavily on maintaining specific court positions and following the rules.

There were skill activities each week, culminating in extended match play for the last sessions.

We have been fortunate again to have our footy clinics run be SEDA Strathmore for the Prep-6 students. They have been participating in some rotational footy skills and fun games starting last Thursday. There will be 2 more sessions to go. The last session has been moved to not coincide with NAPLAN testing,  so it will conclude a week or two after that.

Coming up on the 12th of March for the Preps-2s will be an NRL Fun Day between recess and lunch. There will be some skill sessions followed by a mini tourment. Parents are welcome to attend.
