Spirit of Christmas

What a day! The Spirit of Christmas was held on Wednesday on the students' last day of school for 2024. The day was filled with fun activities run by the staff; from craft to a tabloid sports event, timber craft, biscuit decorating, and filling hampers to donate to the Salvation Army! This was followed by a whole school Mass with Father Victor, where we celebrated the Nativity in this holy time.

The afternoon was all fun and games in the hall, beginning with a Nativity performance by the Year 9 Drama class, a Christmas trivia game, Christmas carol karaoke led by Frosty the Snowman (a fan-favourite!), a costume competition which was taken out by Olivia and Lily, and a final address by Mrs Rolfe which included donations to St Vincent de Paul and Blackrock Industries.

A highlight of the afternoon was the staff race where they completed an obstacle course wearing inflatables. We think Miss Spooner was the winner.

We thank every single student and staff member who made the Spirit of Christmas so special. It takes all kinds of people to build a community, and St Joseph’s has some of the best people around!
