Level 1
This month, our Level 1 students embarked on a hands-on project to make their very own rain gauges.
As part of a science unit on ‘weather and environment’ the students were introduced to the concept of precipitation and the role rain gauges play in collecting data for weather forecasts. They made them out of recycled plastic bottles that they brought in from home. The students had lots of fun and are looking forward to seeing how much rain their rain gauge catches in the coming weeks.
Level 2
Our Level 2 students had an amazing time on their trip to the aquarium!
They learned all about animal habitats and what living things need to survive. At the aquarium, they explored different Australian marine habitats and saw where ocean animals live. They looked at how animals get food, water, shelter and air to stay safe and healthy. The exhibits were so much fun, and the students loved seeing how these habitats work in real life. It was an exciting way to learn about the underwater world!
We even got to see Pesto the penguin!
Level 3
Level 3 have had an exciting end to the year and have been busy constructing their very own towns out of recyclable materials!
Our project ‘Uptown’ has involved students planning, designing and constructing their own towns. They have been creating rules and laws for their towns, and discussing what makes a good leader, and why they would make a great Mayor for their town.
A Year In Review
I think year three has been the best year of my life!
I think year three is fun and unique, I mean a different class has a star sitter, handy helpers and laptop tech! That's not all what level three has, I loved doing STEM and projects with other people in other classes such as 3W and 3M and if I wasn't in year three I wouldn't make new friends like Emma and Ashley! The level three teachers are all so very kind and even planned us a two fun filled day camp, and other fun excursions!
To all the grade twos you would definitely enjoy level three!! Serena S (3C)
This year was a fun filled year for year 3.
We had so many experiences and some of us are doing it for the first time! Let’s talk about the experiences we have had at camp,it was my absolute favourite! We have had millions of excursions but I think my favourite was when we went to the Melbourne Zoo in term 1 . There was a humongous tortoise everyone in my group thought it was a statue but we were all gobsmacked that it moved! We also had the colour run but sadly I was sick so I couldn't come but over all I’ve had a fantastic year with a fantastic teacher! Thivaanie P (3C)
We have had such a delightful year with the Level 3 students and wish you all a safe and Happy Christmas and New Year period. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Best wishes,
Mrs. Wroe, Mr. Meredith and Miss. Callanan
Level 4
Level 4 has had an exciting and jam packed year!
Students have the opportunity to be a part of Athletics and Cross Country, State School Spectacular, Phillip Island Camp, Whole School Concert, meeting their 2025 buddies and so much more. The students are well equipped for their next step of schooling.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
My favourite thing from 2024 was camp because the giant swing was absolutely amazing and I loved the cabins because I got to be with my friends! Kiara 4V
My favourite thing is going to the museum because not every day we get to see interesting stuff like dinosaur bones, insects and a whole lot of other amazing things at the Museum! Emily 4V
One of my favourite things from 2024 was District Athletes because you got to compete in sports and it’s a great day away from school with your friends. Charlotte 4V
Level 5
This festive season, our Level 5 students have been busy crafting beautiful Christmas wreaths, showcasing their creativity.
Using donated materials, the students designed unique wreaths, each one a testament to their resourcefulness and artistic flair.
Adding a touch of sweetness to their creations, the students brought along lollies to decorate their wreaths, transforming them into delightful holiday treats.
A big thank you to everyone who donated materials and supported this activity. The students loved the opportunity to express their creativity and spread some holiday cheer through their handmade masterpieces!
We hope you love them as much as we do!
Level 6
Book Club
Buddy Activity
The Level 6 students spent their last buddy activity making delicious Christmas houses with their year 1 friends!
They used Nice biscuits, icing, plenty of lollies and lots of creativity to construct little, edible wonderlands.
It was so lovely to see the buddies working together and making some final memories before our Level 6 students depart JPPS.
We hope these pictures don’t make you too hungry! 😜
