Junior Hooptime
A week ago the Junior All Star Girls Hooptime team went to the State Finals!!!
It was at the State Basketball Centre and when we all arrived we were all very excited but still a little nervous! We played 4 games which were very intense and unfortunately we only won one. Since we only won one game we played a Consolation game. We all had a fantastic day and we had so much fun playing basketball with our friends!
On the 2nd of December, the Junior All Stars Boys also went to the state finals alongside the girls. We were pretty happy with ourselves as we did not lose a game throughout the leadup to State Finals. After winning our four pool games we made it to the finals. We won our Quarter and Semi finals so we were through to the Grand final. We were up for a challenge in the Grand final. We played a school that Mr Oakey worked at which was Yarra Road in the Grand Final. We won by 14 points! We earned a t-shirt, a medal and a trophy for the school.
We were the first All Star team at Jells Park Primary School to win a Grand Final at State Hoop time.

STATE HOOP TIME FINALS - WHAT A WILD RIDE!
This year, a team of Year 5 & 6 students competed in the boys' Hooptime competition.
As the weeks went by, we kept winning and eventually qualified for the state finals. When we heard the news, we knew it would be fun but also a big challenge.
We had amazing helpers who took us to the arena, arriving at 9 am to warm up for our first game, which we knew would test our abilities. It was a tough battle, but we ended up losing by 7 points. In the next game, we tried our very best but still couldn’t secure a win. With 2 games down and 2 losses, we felt all hope of reaching the finals was gone.
The next game was against a team we weren't familiar with. We came out with high energy from the start and never slowed down, winning by 13 points. With one win under our belt, we knew that if we won the next game, the finals could be within reach.
We went into the game with high hopes and feeling better than ever.
As the game started, it was back and forth, but we always had the edge and came out with the win. We were thrilled to find out that we had made it to the final. Before the game, Miss T called us in for a pre-game talk. The game started, and we were on the attack.
At halftime, we were up by 4 points. In the second half, they came out strong, and we were slow to react, which caused us to lose by 1 point.
We would like to thank Miss T for supporting us throughout all the days at Hooptime.
You have been the best, and it wouldn’t have been the same without you.
