From the Leadership Team
Farewell 2024
It's hard to believe how quickly this school year has flown past. We have made it to the end of a very successful school year, and we made it together. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to make our school community who we are.
To our staff, thank you for your commitment to providing a quality education and new experiences to our students. Your hard work and passion have made a significant impact on our students' learning.
To our hard working students, congratulations on all your learning achievements this year! Your enthusiasm and willingness to embrace new challenges has been fabulous. Whether it was participating in Sports Day, showcasing your talents in the arts, or taking risks with your learning, you have made us all proud.
To our families, your partnership and support have been invaluable. Thank you for your involvement in school activities and events, your encouragement at home, and your trust in us to educate your children. We can't do our jobs without your support of your children.
On Wednesday night, we celebrated the graduation of our Year 6 students. We shared a fabulous evening with families, staff and students, enjoying memories and stories of 2024 and the students' time at Para Vista. They all proudly accepted their graduation folders and awards and it was fabulous to see over 160 family members and friends sharing this night with them. Thanks to the teachers and SSOs for their organisation, particularly Anne who once again made our hall look amazing. I know this night has created some fabulous memories.
As we look forward to the next school year, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to create a nurturing and dynamic environment where every student can thrive. I hope you enjoy time with family and friends and that you have the opportunity to do something that helps you rest and recharge as we head into 2025. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a great holiday break.
Best Wishes,
Anita
Thank You & Good Luck
Today at assembly, we farewelled some staff who are moving on to new challenges in 2025. As mentioned in previous newsletters, many of these teachers have been with us for a few years, with Emily & Emily joining us this year.
In the time that Caitlyn Hall, Lauren Burton and Jacqui Iliev have been at Para Vista, they have made a huge impact on our students and community. There are always lots of fun learning experiences on offer, celebrating interests and community events, and providing opportunities to share learning to other students. The energy that all 3 teachers bring will be missed but we know that they will all be welcomed into their new communities, who will value their knowledge and experience and be ready to participate in lots of fun along with them. Best of luck Caitlyn, Lauren and Jacqui and thank you for everything.
Emily King & Emily Hoff took on the challenge of working with our Preschool and Reception students respectively this year and their patience and nurturing ways have been instrumental in supporting our youngest learners. We wish Emily Hoff well as she continues working with Reception students in another setting and Emily King all the best as she excitedly awaits the birth of her second child.
We also farewelled Sarah who has worked with us this term as our ACEO. Sarah has got to know lots of our families and we wish her well in her current role.
Farewell Lisa
Lisa McMahon, our Inclusion and Intervention Coordinator, has been part of the Para Vista community for 13 1/2 years, as both a teacher and as a leader.
As a teacher Lisa was known for her time in Early Years classes and particularly teaching in the Hive with Miss Paige. She taught many current students and siblings. Her connection with students and families is a strength and we know many families and staff will miss her.
As a leader Lisa has been involved in many parts of our school - Children’s University, student leadership, Aboriginal education, supporting students with needs, timetables, assemblies, supporting SSO’s, working with external providers, supporting the running and organisation of special events, attending excursions and camp and the general daily tasks we do as a leadership team. She loved being involved with student activities so I’m
sure many children have joined her having a laugh or dance during events such as Book Week or school concerts. Many students have also been the subject of photos that she enjoyed taking for school sharing.
Lisa has been a valuable part of the school community over the years and we thank her greatly for her fabulous work as both a teacher and leader. Good luck Lisa. We know your personality, experience and knowledge will be valued by your new school community.
