Yr 12 Kangaroobie Camp

A three day camp in Term 2 2025 from Wednesday 30th April- Friday 2nd May at Kangaroobie Princetown Victoria.  

 

The Year 12 camp is a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen their bond as a cohort with their peers, their Year Student Manager and other staff working within the Student Engagement, Wellbeing and Pathways team. Students will participate in team-building activities that will strengthen their resilience during their academic school year. 

 

Students who do not attend camp will participate in an alternative prorgram on campus- attendance is compulsory if not attending camp.

 

Accommodation: Students will stay on site at Kangaroobie, in the bunk dorms. Please note: bed linen (including bed sheets, a pillow, pillow case and bath towel are not provided, students will need to pack this in their belongings). If there are specific requirements for your child that we should be made aware of, please contact a member of the Student Engagement Team as early as possible to provide details.  

 

Meals: - All meals will be provided, except for lunch on the first day of the camp - Wednesday 30th April. Students will need to bring their own lunch from home. If your child has dietary requirements for all other meals provided by the campsite, please contact Tim Harris by no later than Friday 7th March in Term 1 2025 to ensure these details are passed along to the catering staff at the campsite so they can make the necessary adjustments to their menu planning.  

 

What to bring: 

Comfortable casual clothes suited to the weather forecast (waterproof coat) and appropriate sleepwear 

  • Shoes (ideally boots, comfortable sneakers and gumboots- bring two pairs) 
  • Toiletries including insect repellant 
  • Bed linen which includes: a sleeping bag, bed sheet, pillowcase and pillow and a towel.
  • Lunch for the first day- Wednesday 30th April. 

 

The cost of the Year 12 Kangaroobie camp is $335 per student. 

Homestead supports student attendance at the camp and have subsidised a proportion of the overall associated costs. The College endeavours to provide substantial notice for the camp to ensure all Year 12 students are in attendance. In order for this camp to successfully run in 2025, we require a minimum of 90% student attendance from our Year 12 cohort. We will endeavour to work with all families that require financial support and organise payment plans where required to assist all Year 12 to have the opportunity to attend this camp. 

 

The first instalment for the camp will was a deposit of $85 which was be required by Friday 22nd November 2024 to secure your child’s place on the Year 12 camp. However you can still make this payment in 2025.

 

The second instalment of $125 will be required to be paid by Friday the 21 of February 2025

 

The third instalment of $125 will be required to be paid by Friday the 21st March 2025
