Welcome to the Koala Class!

Literacy

The Koala students have been busy building their reading brains and are making fantastic progress in developing their fluency during daily reading sessions. This week, students enjoyed the opportunity to show off their growing reading skills to Jasmin during morning reading time.

Maths

In maths, the Koala students have been building their mathematical fluency with number facts. Kindergarten students have been recognising dot patterns to 6 and combining dice collections to find the total. Year 1 students have been rolling and adding 10-sided dice to calculate totals, helping them strengthen their understanding using concrete materials such as counters, dots and fingers.

Students have also been learning how to measure the length of objects using informal units. They particularly enjoyed measuring the long stems on the flowers and comparing their lengths.
