Activities

This term has started well, with the boarders enjoying a wide range of activities, attending school sporting events such as the Carroll Cup, and participating in our regular town leave trips to the shops.
Some of the activities included Belly Flop Baseball, Cricket, Gym sessions, Mother’s Day craft activities, and many more.
We were also able to celebrate National Boarding Week with a Nagle House and Rice House excursion to Flip Out. In addition, the boarders contributed to the Mount Erin Cultural Respect Mural under the guidance of Tyrone Hoerler and myself.
The mural represents the two Catholic traditions of Nano Nagle and Edmund Rice, which are reflected in our two house groups that form Mount Erin Boarding. It also pays cultural respect to the Traditional Owners of the land on which Mount Erin Boarding stands. Displayed on the mural is the Wiradjuri word Yindyamarra, which translates to “respect.” It encourages us to “go slow,” be gentle, and take responsibility — values that we strive to uphold within the boarding house community.
To finish the term, we have a number of activities planned, including pickleball at the PCYC and our mixed/ co-ed Touch football tournament, which is always a great afternoon for everyone involved.
Kind regards,
Jody Siegwalt
