Celebrating Learning Across Our School

Across Trinity Catholic School, there is a strong sense of purpose and excitement in learning as students continue to grow in knowledge, faith and understanding throughout this term.

In Religious Education, a number of our students are preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This is a special time of reflection, where students are learning about forgiveness, making thoughtful choices, and experiencing God’s love and mercy. We thank the teachers who walk alongside our students during their preparation. All our staff live out their faith through their actions and words on a daily basis. Your children are blessed to have such amazing teachers.

As well look forward to next Wednesday 20th May, we ask that you keep Lily, Jacob, Maddie, Max, Ned, Xavier, Genesis, AJ, Raph and their families in our prayers as they take this important step in their faith.

Below is the communciation that was sent home for families that have children preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

In the classroom, students have been exploring the fascinating world of Earth Science and sustainability. They are developing an understanding of how our planet works and, importantly, how we can care for it. These learning experiences are empowering our students to see themselves as responsible stewards of creation, making thoughtful choices that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Literacy learning continues to be a key focus, with students deepening their reading comprehension skills. Through rich texts and meaningful discussions, they are learning to think more deeply about what they read—questioning, interpreting and making connections.

A key priority across our school is teaching students how to be effective learners. We are explicitly developing habits such as persistence, resilience and the value of hard work. Alongside this, we are establishing clear and consistent routines in every classroom to ensure equitable access to learning for all students. These routines create calm, focused environments where every child is supported to succeed.

Underpinning all of this learning is our deliberate focus on critical thinking and creativity. Students are being challenged to ask questions, explore different perspectives, solve problems and express their ideas in innovative ways. These skills are essential not only for success at school, but for life beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the engagement, curiosity and enthusiasm our students bring to their learning each day, and we thank our staff and families for their ongoing support in nurturing a vibrant learning community.

How Parents Can Support Learning at Home

  • Maintain high expectations for effort, behaviour and persistence
  • Encourage your child to keep trying, even when learning is challenging
  • Establish consistent routines (homework time, reading time, sleep routines)
  • Provide a quiet, organised space for learning
  • Read together regularly
  • Encourage independence and responsibility (organisation, completing tasks)
  • Model a positive attitude towards learning

Thank you for your continued support of our school.
