In February, March and April, VSC French students participated in Manie Musicale de Mars (March Music Madness). This international annual music tournament, established in 2017, brought together nearly a million students from over 7,600 schools across 38 countries as 16 recently released Francophone songs went head-to-head to be the overall student favourite. 

Participating students engaged with francophone music from around the world, attempted to predict the winning songs for each round of the tournament in a bracket challenge, and voted for their favourites throughout March and April. There was joy and heartbreak as student favourites either moved forward or were eliminated, culminating in the final winning song, “Toucher la lune” by Malagasy-French singer-songwriter Maheva, announced in early April.

Congratulations to our class bracket challenge winners: Juliet (Year 12), Rhea (Year 11), Zachary and Sasithmi (Year 10), Gretel, Anaaya, and Emily Z (Year 9), Archer, Dean, and Ermiya (Year 8) and Anna and Anushka (Year 7). 

Félicitations encore to Anaaya and Zachary, who, with a total 32 points each out of a possible 38 points, won the whole-school bracket challenge.
