Year 11 & 12 Formal

Last Saturday night, our VCE VM class and the PTFA organised a wonderful Year 11 & 12 Formal. Our students enjoyed sharing dinner and bringing the moves on the dancefloor. We would like to acknowledge and thank everyone involved in making this such a memorable event for our VCE students.

Year 9 & 10 State Science & Engineering Challenge

Congratulations to our Year 9 & 10 students who competed at the State Science & Engineering Challenge at Ballarat High School on September 3rd. Following a successful win at the South West District Science and Engineering Challenge last month, our students qualified to compete in the State finals. They enjoyed a great day of fun challenges and friendly competition, ending in fifth place.

Silver Duke of Edinburgh Camp

Our Silver Duke of Edinburgh students recently took on the challenge of a four-day camp along the spectacular Great South West Walk at Cape Bridgewater. Carrying everything they needed on their backs, including food, clothing, tents, and mattresses, the students hiked more than 40km through a mix of rain, hail, wind, and sunshine.

Throughout the journey, the group showed remarkable resilience and determination, pushing through tough conditions while continuing to support and encourage one another. Along the way, students deepened their friendships, built teamwork, and developed confidence in their own abilities.

We would like to thank Mr and Mrs Bond, Mr Hall, and Liz Duncan for accompanying the students and journeying alongside them. It was an incredible experience for all involved, and we are proud of how our Silver Duke of Ed students embraced every challenge and grew stronger together.

Year 12 Chapel

Last week, our Year 12 students hosted another fun and engaging Chapel service for the whole school. This included the whole class leading us in some of the Junior School's favourite worship songs, followed by a game of Minute to Win it, as well as a very entertaining retelling of David & Goliath. Thank you Year 12 for the work you put into organising this!

Year 9 & 10 French

This week our Year 9 and 10 students brought a little French flair to the classroom as they made "Tigres", a delicious French treat that combines almond cake with rich chocolate ganache.

As part of our exploration of French culture, students not only learned new baking skills but also discovered the story behind this elegant dessert, which originates from France’s tradition of fine pâtisserie.

The kitchen was filled with the sweet aroma of almond and chocolate, and the students enjoyed both the challenge of the recipe and, of course, tasting their creations. It was a fun and hands-on way to connect language, culture, and food!

Year 8 Food Tech

This week our Year 8 boys had a great time in the Food Tech kitchen, making delicious homemade meat pies. They worked carefully through the process, from preparing the filling to shaping the pastry, and were proud of their results. The best part was sitting down together to enjoy their pies fresh from the oven – a tasty lunch that they had created themselves!
