Changes Coming

As of Monday 15th September, the Outdoor Classroom will be ready for use!

At assembly this week we have shared with the children the boundaries that ensure that we are both looking after the space and being Safe and Supportive in the learning space. The key boundaries are:

  • The wooden benches are for sitting not walking on.
  • Students are not to pull or hang from the timber overhead structure
  • The stones and mulch need to stay in the spaces that they have been put.

The Middle Primary Playground is also nearing completion, with fences soon to come down and bunting to go up until the end of this week. To support Safe and Supportive use of this new space, expectations have been shared at assembly and teachers will spend time putting these into practice with the children next week as part of a staggered start to its use.

Showing respect for the gardens and keeping the bark chips in the place they belong are the two key guidelines for the play space. Teachers and students will also discuss safety guidelines for the use of the swings and climbing equipment.

We look forward to watching the children enjoy these new spaces.

Junior Primary Playground

As we open the new MP Playground, we will also be saying farewell to the edge of the oval and the JP playground. In the meantime, the verandah space will feature three cubby houses along with creative play equipment to support continued play opportunities.

This also means occasional disruptions to use of the car park as we take deliveries, concrete installation etc. We are grateful for your patience and understanding as and when this occurs.

The Plan:

Use of MP playground - Recess and Lunch only

Week 9

  • Monday – Stage 4
  • Tuesday – Stage 3
  • Wednesday – Stage 2
  • Thursday – Stage 3
  • Friday – Stage 2

Please note:

  • After 3pm: OSHC have exclusive use of the MP Playground. Families will be able to use the oval only until 4:15pm.
  • Access into the school: will be from the large double gate by the JP verandah as the OSHC access gate will be locked during playground works.
  • The fencing surrounding the MP Playground will move over to the JP Playground and the back corner of the oval from week 9.

Week 10

  • Open for Stage 2-4

Finally, it’s been fantastic to see the Nest Clubs and the Library thriving. I’m grateful that our students have so many engaging areas to explore and enjoy.

Thank you everyone for continuing to adapt and remain optimistic about the adaptations this year.
