From the Principal

Term 3 has been full of opportunity. From the Senior School production Freaky Friday and the Junior School’s Finding Nemo, to Tournament of Minds, House Cross Country, Debating, Chess, EISM championships and Book Week parades, the calendar has been alive with activity. These events are not simply things to “tick off” the list. They are opportunities for challenge, teamwork and personal growth.
If anyone has caught a glimpse of the many footy finals that dominate September in Melbourne, you’ll have seen how teammates respond when someone makes a mistake. They don’t point fingers. They rally around, reassure each other and remind their mate they are not alone. Mistakes are tough, but they teach more than winning ever does.
At Huntingtower, we want students to know that it is safe to take risks, to make mistakes and to learn from them. The many opportunities in the classroom and beyond provide a safe place to try again and to discover strength in persistence.
We see this spirit in action every day. At House Cross Country, students discover that encouragement from their peers can give them the strength to push beyond what they thought possible. In Debating and Impromptu Speaking, they step into the spotlight with courage and grow in confidence. On stage, actors move seamlessly past a missed line, demonstrating incredible composure. These activities offer deliberate opportunities for real growth. They build character development, resilience and a mindset that will serve them well beyond school.
As we end the Term, I am deeply grateful for the spirit our students, staff and families bring to our community.
I wish you a restful break and look forward to all that Term 4 will bring.
