Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

This week, I want to highlight the powerful theme of resilience—a quality that underpins so much of what we strive to nurture in our students. Resilience is not just about bouncing back from challenges; it’s about growing stronger, wiser, and more compassionate through life’s ups and downs.

At Holy Fam, we are proud to embed resilience-building into everyday learning through our core frameworks:

  • Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) helps students understand that their choices matter. By recognising and rewarding positive behaviours, we empower students to take responsibility, show respect, and persist even when things get tough.
  • Friendology gives our students the language and tools to build healthy friendships, resolve conflict respectfully, and stand up for themselves and others. These are essential life skills that build emotional resilience and confidence.
  • The Leader in Me encourages every child to see themselves as a leader—of their learning, their actions, and their future. Through the 7 Habits, students learn to be proactive, set goals, and work collaboratively, all of which strengthen their ability to navigate challenges with purpose and positivity.

All of this is grounded in our school motto: “Strength and Gentleness.” We teach our students that true strength lies not just in perseverance, but in kindness, empathy, and the courage to try again. Gentleness is not weakness—it is the grace with which we treat ourselves and others, even in difficult moments.

Together, these programs and values create a school culture where resilience is not just taught—it is lived. Thank you for your continued support in helping our students grow into strong, gentle, and resilient young people.

Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action

Real change starts with meaningful conversations—and continues with every action.

Every voice counts. Every child matters.

What You Can Do:

✅ Check in with families & neighbours

✅ Model kindness and support in your everyday actions

✅ Intervene safely when something doesn’t feel right

✅ Include children’s voices in decisions that affect them

Together, let’s build a future where every child feels safe, heard, and valued. 🏡👂
