Positive Behaviour for Learning

Next week's focus is 'I am respectful when I value diversity everywhere and always.'

  • To understand that everyone has unique skills, interests, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • By valuing diversity, we consider that success looks different for different people.
  • To acknowledge that not everyone learns in the same way

Examples

Non-examples

  • Respecting that others learn differently to me
  • Understanding that we are a multicultural community, and sometimes others will speak, interact and maybe even eat differently.
  • Recognising that sometimes people will want their own space, whilst others may want to be around people

  • Pointing out when a student in class is getting more help or when their work looks different to mine
  • Pointing out the difference in others
  • Putting down another person based on their ability (E.g.: You only got 3 words right then)
