Dad’s Drop Off Breakfast Thank you

We would like to share a big thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate our Dad’s Drop-off Breakfast event last Thursday morning to celebrate Father’s Day.  It was a wonderful morning and great to see so many people in our community coming together to connect with one another. A special thank you to the team who brought the event together and helped to make the morning a great success.

National Child Protection Week

This week is National Child Protection Week, with the theme “Every Conversation Matters.” It’s a great reminder of how powerful everyday chats with children can be, especially when it comes to keeping them safe online.

At our school, child protection is a year-round priority. Teachers support this by teaching the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum, helping children build knowledge and confidence to stay safe.

We’d also like to share a valuable resource with families: www.esafety.gov.au/ the eSafety Commissioner website. It offers free parent webinars, fact sheets, and practical tips to support children’s online safety.

R U OK? Day – Ask Any Day

Tomorrow is R U OK? Day, a national reminder that a conversation can change a life. This year’s theme, “Ask R U OK? Any Day,” encourages us to remember that we don’t need to wait for one special day- checking in can happen any day of the year.

This week you might think of someone in your life, a family member, a friend, or a colleague, who might appreciate being asked how they are really going.

The R U OK? website provides helpful conversation guides and four simple steps to support these important chats:

  1. Ask

  2. Listen

  3. Encourage Action

  4. Check in

There’s also a handy self-check in tool to help us recognise if we are ready to ask R U OK? Check out the section called “Getting ready to ask” for some tips. You can explore all the resources here: https://www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask
