House Initiatives
Lollies for Luke
Throughout Week 7, the Gilmore House ran its fundraising campaign “Lollies for Luke” for the Luke Priddis Foundation. The Gilmore students leaders put together lolly bags and sold them to raise money for the Luke Priddis Foundation. The Luke Priddis Foundation is a Penrith based non-profit. Luke and Holly Priddis started the Luke Priddis Foundation (LPF) in 2006 after their third child, Cooper, was diagnosed with Autism. The Luke Priddis Foundation caters to clients aged 2-18 years old. LPF is known for being a centre for Autism, however, a diagnosis is not necessary to receive services. The funds raised by the Chisholm Community will go towards:
- Providing quality therapy resources
- Empowering families
- Enhancing awareness
Congo Aid
The Jackson House also ran their annual BBQ for Congo Aid. Congo Aid members in Australia work closely in collaboration with Bishop Muhindo Isesomo and Dorcas Mbambu to coordinate the work on the ground in theDemocratic Republic of Congo in the schools, clinics, orphanages or where needed.
A massive thank you to the following local business and individuals who helped to sponsor the BBQ:
- Mr McArdle
- Woolworths
- Bakers Delight
- Platinum Security Services
- Ribs and Roast Penrith
R U OK? Day
On Thursday 11th September 2025 Caroline Chisholm College recognised R U OK? Day. R U OK? Day is a mental health initiative founded by Gavin Larkin in 2009. This day was created to encourage people to check in on others, particularly those who might be struggling, by simply asking, "R U OK?" The aim is to promote conversations about mental health, strengthen community connections, and help people feel comfortable checking in with others. Having a conversation like this can help people to take action and get help if they need it.
All members of the College community, both students and staff, received a conversation starter card and a kitkat to encourage individuals to start the conversation. At lunch time Mr McIlveen ran jukebox lunch and students shared time in conversation.
During Friday’s Wellbeing lesson, the students learnt about how to have an R U OK conversation and the steps to follow to gain support when needed. All of the students made a pledge on the focus of checking in with their loved ones and peers.
