Father’s Day Liturgy
Last week, our school community gathered to celebrate our annual Father’s Day Liturgy, where we warmly welcomed fathers, stepfathers, uncles, grandparents, and all those who take on the role of a father figure. This special occasion gave us the opportunity to come together in prayer and gratitude, honouring the men in our lives who guide, support, and love us.
As a token of appreciation, our guests were gifted with a prayer card and a chocolate. The prayer card served as a reminder of the spiritual guidance and blessing that father figures bring into our lives, while the chocolate symbolised sweetness, warmth, and the joy they add to our families and community.
We were honoured to hear a heartfelt reflection from Mr Nick Carozza, who shared powerful words on the heart of fatherhood. He reminded us that at its core, being a father, or stepping into that role, is about unconditional love. As he expressed so beautifully:
“It’s the kind of love that keeps showing up, even when you’re not sure you’re doing it right. The kind that says, ‘I may fall short sometimes, but I’m still here, and I’m still trying.’”
It was a touching reminder that fatherhood is not about perfection, but about presence, persistence, and love without condition.
We thank all who attended and joined us in prayer and celebration. A special thanks to the staff and students who helped prepare the liturgy and ensured the morning was a meaningful and memorable celebration for our community.
Year 11 Students Participate in Vinnies Van Training
This term, our Year 11 students had the opportunity to take part in Vinnies Van training, preparing them to serve the local community through the St Vincent de Paul Society initiative.
The Vinnies Van provides support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, offering not only food and essentials but also companionship and dignity. During their training, students learned about the mission of the Vinnies Van, the importance of compassion in service, and the practical skills needed to interact respectfully and safely with those they will meet.
As members of a Catholic community, our students are encouraged to put their faith into action by serving others with love, generosity, and respect. By completing this training, they are now equipped to join CCC staff on rostered nights, where they will experience firsthand what it means to be the hands of Christ in the world.
We are incredibly proud of their willingness to step forward in service and to live out the mission of the College by supporting those in need.
