Grade 2/3/4

It has been such a busy two weeks for the 2/3/4's! They have all participated in swimming the last two weeks- the 3/4's last week and the 2's this week. I am so proud of their responsibility and respectfulness at the pool, representing our school values beautifully.
In Literacy, we have been delving into persuasive writing. The 2/3/4's have been scaffolding their own introduction and body paragraph that 'All schools should have a school uniform'. They have been applying their knowledge of persuasive writing to write these and should be proud of their increase in these skills.
In Numeracy, we have been exploring decimals, with some students even converting decimal to fraction format! They have been continuously persisting with this topic, which I am proud of, considering this can be a tricky concept to master. We will continue this concept next week and I am looking forward to seeing the growth in this area!
In Science, students have enjoyed learning about the concept of heat, which will be the focus of the remainder of the term. They have explored that heat can be seen through thermal cameras and have expanded their understanding of the colours within the cameras to temperatures.
Parent Teacher Conferences are on Wednesday the 17th September where I am looking forward to meeting with everyone and for the students to show the work they are most proud of!
Here are also some photos from Book Week, where we celebrated reading!
