Prep

All about our world

Above: Our preps have been presenting to the grade on countries that they have researched. Often there has been a personal connection to these places and we have loved learning more about them!

Below: Our Investigations space now has an airport and a travel agent. Students are exploring the world through imaginative play.

Grade 1

Acts of Kindness

Grade 1 have been collecting donations for the Blue Cross Animal Society. You can see them here with the incredibly helpful donations that will make a huge difference to the comfort and wellbeing of animals who are awaiting new home. Vicki Brennan, CEO of Blue Cross, visited BBPS to accept our donations. She explained how the desperately needed items would be used to support the animals waiting for their forever homes. She also answered questions about the important work that the Blue Cross society does to rescue and home animals in need.

Welcome to Grade 1 Ms M!

Miss Gororo's class have welcomed their new Teacher Liv Mconnon (Ms M), who was previously teaching prep. It looks like she has settled in quickly!

Sammy (Grade 1) has been working hard, both at home and school to master his Japanese counting. He can now confidently count up to 42. Go Sammy! And thanks to Stephens Sensai for inspiring our learners to share at home.

Grades 3 and 4

Marcel from 4H and Jason from 3W took the initiative to re-set our kitchen garden space. They moved tables and benches to improve the flow, added flowers to the tables, and created a spot that feels cared for and welcoming. The result has been noticeable-lunchtimes are calmer, cleaner, and more enjoyable. A simple, thoughtful effort that made a real impact.

Miss Wendy initiated a recycled items fashion extravaganza! The pics below tell the whole story. Some think this could become an annual event to rival the Met Gala!

Enrichment activities

Enrichment activities in the 3/4 hub continue to amaze and extend student knowledge in unexpected and delightful ways. Below are pictures of learning opportunities ranging from an exploration of Chinese dynasties to science experiments with exploding liquids, and making beautiful creations using wool and water.

PE Opportunities: Swimming, Tennis and Soccer

Lots of opportunities for PE this past two weeks, in addition to P-2 swimming and continued Athletics carnivals,  tennis lessons took place as part of the Physical Education Program P-6, and an additional clinic with SEDA soccer offered to our Grade 5/6 students to practice and hone their skills.

Buddies

Our buddy program continues to foster strong relationships between our senior and junior students, with grade 6 students regularly catching up with their grade 1 buddies and our grade 5 students working with our preps.  We love seeing their smiles as they share learning experiences.
