KLA Feature - English

Term 3 is an important one for students to consolidate the knowledge and skills they acquired in Semester 1.  In English our Year 7-10 students have been focused on units on indigenous poetry, reimagined fairytales, novels dealing with intolerance, and war poetry.  Year 11 Advanced & Standard students are undertaking a study of specific poets, English Studies are considering notions of family in a range of texts, while Extension 1 students are immersed in an Independent Research Project.  No matter what the unit of work, a dedicated focus on writing improvement continues each term.

Today we experienced the joy of our annual Literature Dress Up Day.  Celebrating the joy and value of literary texts, the girls have embraced a variety of characters in wonderful and unique costumes.  The delight of celebrating literature need not stop after dressing up - students are challenged to find delights in reading texts beyond today.  Visit the library for a treasure trove of storytelling and wonderful characters.
