Partnerships and Pathways

Our recent Lunch & Learn sessions have been packed with inspiration, industry insights and practical advice for students exploring future pathways.

To cap off National Science Week, Alumnae Azahlia Stevenson (Class of 2021) shared her remarkable journey since graduating from CCC. Appointed into the Royal Australian Air Force in 2022, Azahlia is studying Aeronautical Engineering at ADFA while serving as an Aeronautical Engineering Officer. Her story of resilience and curiosity left students with five powerful “pillars for success,” and we’re excited to share her wisdom in the first edition of our new Minute with a Mentor video series.

Students interested in hospitality and food services heard from Cherylee Maybury (Hospitality Training Network), who offered practical advice on apprenticeships, resume writing, interview preparation and the confidence needed to succeed in this dynamic industry.

We also welcomed one of the College’s parents, Kia-Lee Sutton (from Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District), who generously shared her time to speak to a full house of students about pathways into nursing and allied health, including EVET Certificate III options, university study, the GradStart program and careers in fields such as Occupational Therapy and Exercise Physiology.

To conclude our Discover the UNIverse series, we welcomed Liliana from the University of Tasmania’s Future Students team, who shared insights into UTAS courses, pathways, scholarships and opportunities both in Tasmania and at the Sydney campus.

A huge thank you to all four presenters for inspiring and equipping our students with real-world knowledge and clear steps toward their futures.

Earlier this week, a group of our students took part in the exciting new Allied Health Careers Expo at OnePoint Health headquarters in Penrith. This free event gave Year 11 and 12 students the chance to explore the diverse world of allied health through conversations and practical insights.

Students chatted with experienced Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Podiatrists, Dietitians and Psychologists to learn what day-to-day work in these professions looks like. They also discovered study pathways, university options, and heard about OnePoint Health’s Clinical Cadet Program, which provides real-world training and mentoring during tertiary study.

It was an engaging and inspiring experience for students interested in healthcare pathways, giving them valuable direction and motivation for their future careers.

JUST IN today! When it comes to career options, much of what students do in their academic life often determines what their career pathway choices are. So effective study is a key part of ensuring your daughter can leave as many doors open to them as possible. Which is why one of our partners, Study Work Grow, has created a new Study Success Guide - a fantastic resource for both students and their families. Featuring topics such as how much you should be studying, creating a study schedule, building good study habits, balancing study and life, study techniques (based on Career Clusters) and more, we hope you find it useful!

For any pathways enquiries, or to book a coaching conversation, students can pop into the library or email us: amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au and  koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au
