Celebration of Learning & Community: Literature Day

At our College, Literature Day is more than a celebration of books—it is a celebration of learning itself. Through stories, poems, and shared reading, our students are reminded that learning is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about deepening understanding, sparking imagination, and nurturing empathy. Literature invites us to see the world through another’s eyes, giving voice to experiences across time, culture, and place. In doing so, it strengthens the skills that lie at the heart of lifelong learning: critical thinking, reflection, and creativity.

Equally, Literature Day is a moment of community building, as students, staff, and families come together to honour the power of words and stories that unite us. As St. Paul reminds us in Romans 15:4, “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” In celebrating literature, we celebrate not only our shared learning but also our shared hope. It is through this spirit of connection that we continue to grow as a community of faith, knowledge, and compassion.

Year 12 Majorworks & Showcases

Our College community has recently celebrated the exceptional talents of our Creative Arts students through their end-of-year showcases. Each performance and display reflected not only an impressive standard of creativity and skill, but also the dedication and passion our students bring to their craft. Alongside these, our Textiles students have proudly completed their major works, and our Society and Culture students have finalised their Personal Interest Projects (PIPs) – each representing many months of research, innovation, and perseverance. These remarkable achievements are the result of countless hours of effort, supported by the guidance of teachers and the encouragement of families. We sincerely thank parents and families for attending the showcase evenings and for their ongoing support of our students’ creative journeys. We extend our warmest congratulations to all students and wish them every success as they now prepare for their final HSC examinations.
