Fr Ian Update
As many of your know, Fr Ian, our parish priest, has been in hospital over the past few weeks navigating some medical challenges. In the last week he has undergone surgery and had a heart defibrillator put in and is now recovering at home. We ask you to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Our Year 6 students have been preparing for their upcoming Sacrament of Confirmation. In this Jubilee of Hope year, we have been blessed with the opportunity for all our students to celebrate this special sacrament together at St Patrick’s Cathedral, alongside the Year 6 students from St James and St Joan of Arc. The Confirmation Mass will be held on Sunday, 5th October at 2:00pm. Please keep our students in your prayers as they continue their journey of faith and readiness to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Parable of the Lost Son (Prodigal Son)
Family Connection
This weekend we celebrate Father’s Day – a special time to give thanks for Dads, Grandfathers, and all the Father figures in our lives. In the Bible, one of the most powerful images of a Father’s love is found in the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11–32). In this story, the Father never stops loving his son, even when he makes mistakes. Instead, he runs to meet him, embraces him, and celebrates his return. This parable gives us a glimpse of God’s unconditional love for us, and it also reflects the love and care that Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles, and other role models show in our lives.
These people guide us, encourage us, and support us in both big and small ways—whether it’s cheering us on at sport, helping with homework, offering advice, or simply being there when we need comfort. Just as the Father in the Gospel story shows patience and forgiveness, our dads and father figures remind us of God’s presence and love through their daily actions.
As a school community, we give thanks for all the fathers and special men in our lives.
🙏 Pray together as a Family
Loving God,
We thank you for the gift of Fathers and the various Father figures in our lives. Bless them with patience, strength, and wisdom as they guide and care for their families. May they know the love and gratitude we hold for them today and always.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
👨👩👧👦 Family Activity
During your Father’s Day meal this weekend, take a moment to go around the table and invite each person to share a favourite memory of their Dad, Grandfather, Uncle or another special role model, as well as one thing they appreciate about them.
This simple tradition helps us say “thank you” in a meaningful way and makes Father’s Day a celebration of gratitude, love, and family togetherness.
May God bless,
