Dear families
This week, we are excited to celebrate SASS Week — a special time dedicated to acknowledging and appreciating the invaluable contributions of our School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS). This includes our office and library administrative staff, SLSOs who support students in the classroom and playground, and our GA. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment play a vital role in creating a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for our students and staff.
Please join us in recognising and thanking our SASS team for everything they do behind the scenes to keep our school running smoothly. Their efforts truly make a difference every day.
Thank you, SASS team, for your outstanding support and dedication!
Also this week, our school celebrated Book Week with two spectacular parades and Book Fair. Students dressed up as their favourite book characters, showcasing creativity and enthusiasm for reading. The parade was a highlight for the school community, promoting a love of literature and storytelling. Alongside the parade, the Book Fair provided an excellent opportunity for students and families to explore a wide range of books and literary materials. Thank you to all the parents, carers, and staff who helped make these events such a success.
The much-anticipated K-2 Athletics Carnival, which was originally scheduled earlier this term, will now take place tomorrow. The carnival provides our Kindergarten to Year 2 students with the opportunity to participate in fun and friendly athletic events such as races, discus and Tug-o-War. It’s a fantastic way to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and school spirit. Parents and family members are warmly invited to come along and cheer on the children. The students will walk from school in the morning to Meadowbank Park. The activities will begin at approximately 10:00 am. The carnival will finish at 1:30 pm. Students will walk back to school with their teachers. Parents can take their child home from Meadowbank Park. Please ensure your child been marked off the roll first.
We are thrilled to share that two of our dedicated staff members, Ms Emeleus and Mrs Evans, have been honoured with awards at this year’s Rotary Teacher of the Year ceremony. These awards recognise exceptional contributions to teaching, leadership, and student wellbeing. Ms Emeleus and Mrs Evans consistently demonstrate passion, innovation, and commitment in their roles, making a positive impact on our school community.

The P&C has organised a special Father’s Day stall this Thursday to give students the chance to purchase thoughtful gifts for their dads, grandfathers, and father figures. The stall will offer a variety of affordable presents, ensuring every child can find something special. This event not only helps celebrate the important men in our students’ lives but also supports our school through fundraising efforts. See the P&C article for more information on how to purchase a gift.
Our recent P&C (Parents and Citizens) meeting held last week was highly productive, with great discussions and valuable input from parents and staff alike. Key topics included upcoming school events, fundraising initiatives, and improvements to school facilities. We appreciate the ongoing support and engagement from our parent community. If you were unable to attend, the minutes from all P&C meetings are uploaded on the school website for you to stay informed and involved.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a vibrant and welcoming environment for all students.
