Volunteers
With our audition process complete and our cast announced, planning to make Mary Poppins Jr. a spectacular show for our students is well underway!
We are on the call-out for volunteers who have expertise in different areas. If you are keen to get involved and unleash your creativity, we would love your help in the following ways.
Sewers
If you have a talent for sewing or are willing to lend a hand, we are looking for volunteers to assist with creating and altering costumes for the production. Whether you're an experienced seamstress or you can add the finishing touch to a costume, such as sequins or ribbons, your support will make a huge difference in bringing our musical to life.
Prop Club
If you have a flair for crafting or enjoy working with students, we would love for you to join us during prop-making workshops. Volunteers will work alongside students to create the various props needed for the production.
Op shop sourcing
We are looking for volunteers to help source some unique items to enhance our set and costumes! If you have an eye for treasure, we would love your help in finding old hats, briefcases, vintage clothes, and early 1900s-style set pieces from local op shops. These items will be key in bringing the time-period to life on stage.
Set Building
If you enjoy working with your hands and have a passion for building, we are looking for volunteers to assist with set construction for the production. Whether you're experienced in woodworking or simply eager to pitch in, your contributions will be essential in creating amazing backdrops for our show.
Please click the link to detail how you would like to become part of our 2025 production team. Any help, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
I will collate all the feedback once school returns and be in touch after April 28th with further information about how we will get started.
Donations
Lastly, we are looking for the following items and would greatly appreciate any donations or resources you can lend or offer. If you have any of the following items lying around the house or no longer in use, we would be grateful for your support:
Costumes: (e.g., period clothing, accessories, old-fashioned hats, old-fashioned oversized bags)
Props: (e.g., black briefcases, fake flowers, wooden crates, an old-fashioned rocking horse, canes, clear plastic umbrellas, older style furniture, such as brown tables/desks, chairs, or an old-fashioned chaise lounge sofa)
Set Materials: (e.g., fabric, paint, cardboard, wooden planks, timbre sheets, old small shelving units)
Your generous contribution will make a huge difference and be put to great use. If you have any of these items or similar resources that you’re willing to share or lend, please contact Lisa Mclean lmclean@sjelst.catholic.edu.au or bring the items to school in Term Two. Your generosity will help bring this show to life. Thank you for helping us make this production a success!
