Welcome Back to Term 2! I hope this message finds you all well and rejuvenated after a restful and refreshing term break.

It’s been absolutely delightful to see our students return with big smiles on their faces, reconnecting with friends and bringing a positive energy into the school. The start of Term 2 has already been filled with excitement, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community.

As we step into another important term of learning, growth, and opportunity, we’re looking forward to continuing our work together to support every student to Achieve, Believe and Succeed.

Supporting Your Child at Home with Their Learning in Term 2

As we begin Term 2, it’s important to revisit and reinforce the high expectations we hold at Truganina College. Setting this tone early helps students focus, motivates staff, and builds a strong partnership between home and school.

When families and schools work together, students thrive. That’s why we value clear communication and shared goals between parents, carers and educators. By understanding what your child is learning and finding ways to connect with it at home, you’re actively supporting their success.

What can you do?

Read the Term 2 Curriculum Overviews – These overviews give insight into what your child will be learning across subjects this term.
Talk about learning at home – Bring up some of the topics at the dinner table, over breakfast, or on the journey to and from school.
Encourage participation – Ask your child about what’s happening at school and how they can get involved in activities or events.
Support with Homework - Homework is set for all year levels at Truganina College and is a great way to support additional practise of learning and in the senior years to set good study habits for your child. It's also a peek into how your child is travelling with their learning.

Every conversation and small action at home adds up and helps your child feel confident, connected and engaged in their learning.

Our strategic intent

At Truganina College, we are committed to providing the best possible education for every student, and part of doing that to a high standard means having a clear plan for where we're going and how we’ll get there. That’s why we have two important guiding documents:

School Strategic Plan - SSP

This is our big-picture, four-year plan. It outlines our school’s goals and priorities over a longer period. It’s based on data, evidence and community input, helping us focus on:

Supporting student wellbeing
Building teacher capacity
Strengthening partnerships with families and the community

Each year, we create an Annual Implementation Plan that breaks the Strategic Plan into smaller, achievable steps. It outlines:

How families and students will be involved

Welcome to our 2025 School Council

Last term, we were very excited to welcome some new and some familiar faces to our 2025 School Council!

The School Council plays an important role in the life of our College. Meeting twice each term, this dedicated group of parents, carers, community members and staff work together with the Principal to support the best possible educational outcomes for all our students.

We’re grateful for the time, energy and commitment each School Council member brings to their role, and we look forward to another year of collaboration and shared success.

Wishing our college community a wonderful term ahead where again we will live up to our College motto where every child will achieve, believe and succeed!
