Principal's Report
Principal's Report
As term 1 approaches its conclusion, it is timely to reflect on some of the strong achievements of our students over the past few weeks.
Last week, our college captains and vice captains assisted me to host local primary school principals.
The students formed a panel fielding many questions from the visitors, which they capably and confidently responded to sharing aspects of their learning journey, along with key college priorities and opportunities.
The students then proceeded to guide the principals as they toured the college, demonstrating that they knew our college well and understood the objectives and key focus of maximising learning and individual growth for all within our learning community.
I congratulate Anna Harper, Zach Bissett, Bek Howarth, and Jack Harper, who cast a very positive light upon themselves, and Scoresby Secondary College.
In addition, our student leaders across all year levels prepared for, and led, tours of our college on Open Night; where they guided parents, carers, and primary school students as they shared our learning vision within each domain. Congratulation to Bek Howarth, Delilah Murphy, Liam Schulz, Lia Amor, Zach Bissett, Zachary Donaghey, Wesley Ferdinands, Jack Harper, Russell Amado, Addi Jones, Adam Du, Rayd Rachman, Khushdip Kaur, Savannah Ferguson, and Jack Rantall. With a special mention to Anna Harper for her leadership and coordination of the student leaders.
Melbourne University and Asialink Education have invited 20 of our year 7 and 8 students with leadership potential to participate in the Victorian Emerging leaders Program.
Students will participate in a series of sessions from May to August 2025 where they can develop, hone and display their leadership qualities.
Our STEM students have been selected as one of two schools working with the Coca Cola company, in partnership with KIOSK and CIMET (Careers in Manufacturing, Engineering, & Technology), as part of their 2025 STEM Industry Project.
Students will be provided with a real-world problem and work together to develop and propose a solution, which they will present to industry professionals.
ABCN (Australian Business and Network Community) have offered an opportunity for our students to participate in an “Interview to Impress” program where our students are able to experience, and practice being interviewed by industry business professionals in a face-to-face environment in the city.
To further broaden our connection with Swinburne University, as well as the Children’s University Program which several of our students have participated in over recent years, we have partnered for a mentor program where students receive several mentoring sessions, as well as visits to the Hawthorn campus to experience university life.
I thank parents and staff for their interest in supporting our community and am pleased to announce that the 2025 College Council members and office bearers are as listed below:
