Health and Physical Education Update

What a busy and productive term it has been.

Our students continue to participate in all learning activities with enthusiasm and dedication in an effort to improve knowledge and skills.

We have also been impressed with the fact that the absolute vast majority of students come to PE classes with their PE uniform fully prepared for learning.

New Equipment

We have been able to make a significant investment in new equipment for our students to use in PE classes. This helps us ensure that students have access to equipment of a variety of sizes so they can best learn new skills. Learning and improving in practical skills is not a “one size fits all” and we will always endeavour to adapt so all students can experience success and learn.

Pickle Ball

One of the new sports we have invested in is Pickle Ball. Pickle Ball is a sport that is rapidly growing in worldwide popularity.

We believe it gives students the chance to develop striking and hitting skills in a more accessible way than traditional racket sports.

It gives students a higher chance of success than traditional racket sports and also teaches them game concepts similar to those used in tennis, table tennis and badminton.

Most of our PE classes have already participated in Pickle Ball sessions and the feedback from them has been overwhelmingly positive.

Our Pickle Ball initiative will also see us having a Staff Pickle Ball Fun Competition next term. Maybe students might like to challenge teachers to a game.

Health Education

Health classes continue to be engaging and productive. Ms Marsal informs me that a particular highlight was the high-quality presentations made by Year 10 students about community heath provision.

Thanks to all members of our community, for supporting our programs this year.

We look forward to an even more productive term 2 in PE and Health.

Stay active, stay healthy.
