Hands on Learning

Our Hands-On Learning programs have started the year with positivity and purpose. The Build Group has adapted well to working across both campuses - constructing vegetable gardens at Kildare, which will soon be filled with fresh herbs and vegetables, and completing landscaping projects at Brigidine. At the same time, they continue to develop their woodworking skills, creating basketball backboards and bird feeders.
Our Cafe programs have been busy serving staff customers with delights such as Mango and Passionfruit Tarts, Lentil & Vegetable salad and the always popular Spanish Churros! Alongside this, we continue to create treats to contribute to Caritas fundraising and care meals for people in our community. Term 2 will see our students make cookies to celebrate 140 years of St Mary's Parish and bake delicious items for a bake sale with funds going to a chosen local charity.
Our HoL students are to be commended for their teamwork, dedication to our projects and respect for the community.
