Faith and Community

Throughout Lent, our College community has journeyed together in reflection, prayer and action. We have gathered in weekly staff prayer, walked alongside our parish in Caritas Ks and raised awareness and funds through Project Compassion, using the stories of those in need as an anchor for our commitment to justice and compassion.

This week, as we paused for Holy Week, we were reminded through powerful symbols, the cross, the light, the shared table of the deep love, sacrifice and hope at the heart of this sacred time. Together, we have reflected on Christ’s journey, remembering that while suffering is part of the story, it does not have the final word. Love overcomes fear, hope rises from despair and new life is always possible. It was wonderful to gather together at our Kildare Campus as a whole College community to share this time together.

To mark the end of the term, students celebrated with Fair Trade Easter eggs, a choice that reflects our commitment to ethical and just practices. Fair Trade ensures that farmers and workers are paid fairly and work in safe conditions, free from exploitation and child labor. This choice directly connects to the Living Justice, Living Peace Charter, which calls us to seek change, walk in solidarity, and heal creation by making decisions that uphold the dignity of all people.

As we move into the holidays, may we carry forward the lessons of Lent and Holy Week: to welcome others with kindness, serve humbly, cherish community, forgive courageously and hold onto hope. May this time of rest and renewal prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter and the promise of new beginnings.

Looking ahead to next term, we are excited to welcome students and staff into a new space that honours our history. The Heritage Room, being developed in the first classroom of Brigidine, will tell the story of our College, offering a place for reflection and connection to the rich traditions that have shaped our community. Thanks to the work of Matthew Wilson, this space will feature a display that highlights the journey of our school, reminding us of the foundation on which we continue to grow.
