Principal's Report

It’s hard to believe we have already reached the end of Term 1! The past few months have been filled with learning, growth and wonderful moments of connection within our school community.

As we gathered at Kildare Campus for our end-of-term Easter Liturgy earlier this week, we took time to reflect on the significance of Easter in our religious calendar. It was a special opportunity to celebrate student successes, share in prayer and remind ourselves of the values that unite us. Moments like these reinforce the strength of our community and the importance of faith in our daily lives.

As we enter the term break, I encourage everyone to embrace the Easter message - one of hope, renewal and gratitude. This is a time to pause, reflect and appreciate the journey so far. I hope all families enjoy a well-deserved period of rest and quality time together. For our students, the break offers a chance to reset, recharge and prepare for the new opportunities and challenges of Term 2.

Last week, we were privileged to host two incredible community events the SEEN Documentary and the Liverpool Football Club International Academy Community Event. These experiences allowed our students and families to engage, learn and connect in meaningful ways. We are excited to continue building these opportunities and look forward to many more enriching events in the future.

This term, we also introduced the Student for a Day initiative, giving members of the College Leadership and College Improvement Team a firsthand experience of student life at St Joseph’s. I was lucky enough to be the first staff member to participate this week - from attending classes and even joining in on sports activities, I had the opportunity to get a taste of what it means to be a student in our community. And I was completely exhausted at the end of the day! This initiative is already proving to be a valuable way for our leadership team to better understand student experiences and continue enhancing our school environment.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended our Parent/Teacher/Student Meetings and engaged with our staff. These conversations are essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students. For those unable to attend, I encourage you to reach out to your child’s teachers to stay connected and discuss ways to support their learning journey. As always, we remind students to embrace positive learning behaviours, show respect and support one another - values that are at the heart of our school.

As we close the chapter on Term 1, I want to express my gratitude to our students, families, and staff for their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm. I wish everyone a safe, restful, and joyful break and I look forward to welcoming you all back for an exciting and productive Term 2.

God Bless.
