PMP - in Foundation

Over the past three weeks the students in Foundation with the guidance of Mrs Carbone have been participating in PMP.

What is PMP?

PMP is a Perceptual Motor Program designed for our Foundation students and is an integral part of the Foundation year. It concentrates heavily on the development of perceptions and language through planned activities. Motor outcomes of the program include (locomotion, balance, fitness and hand/eye coordination), perception of self (body image, control laterality and directionality) and perception of space (space awareness).

We also aim to develop student’s memory, problem solving skills, language and concept development, confidence, concentration and social skills, such as sharing, taking turns and working together.

We have all enjoyed the program so far and can not wait for it to continue in term 2.
