A Message from the Principal

Mrs Carolyn Parsell

Dear Parents and Carers,

Colour Fun Run

Congratulations to all on a superb fundraising event this week! It was a wonderful day and it was great to see so many of the parents there to cheer the children on. Special thanks to all the parents who encouraged friends and relatives to give so generously. We exceeded our target and have raised enough money to pay for our 100 Years of St Martha's mosaic project. We look forward to distributing the prizes to the children for their fundraising efforts. Much gratitude to all who were involved in the organising and running of the event.

100 Years of Education at St Martha's

This year we give thanks to God for 100 wonderful years of education at St Martha's. There will be many opportunities for us to come together to celebrate and everything we do this year will have a 100 Years theme! There will be a few commemorative items given to the children and opportunities to purchase some other items. You will see some new sections in the newsletter. Celebrating 100 Years at St Martha's will keep you updated on events and give you a glimpse into the past. We have many former students of St Martha's among our staff, parent and grandparent community. If you have any photos from your time at St Martha's we would love you to share them with us along with stories of your time here and perhaps what has changed and what is the same! We would love some additions to our archives for the Centenary Celebration!

Lent

As we continue the season of Lent we are encouraged to continue to pray, fast and give to the poor. This coming Sunday we have the opportunity to gather for Year 3-6 Family Mass. This is a perfect opportunity to pray as a family and celebrate the Fouth Sunday of Lent. The Fourth Sunday of Lent is traditionally called Laetare Sunday. Laetare is a Latin word that means “rejoice.” Today's Gospel describes the reason for our joy: God's great love for us has been revealed in Jesus. Through his Passion, Death, and Resurrection, Christ has reconciled us with God and one another. I hope to see many of our students at Mass on Sunday and joining in the morning tea after Mass.

Peace and best wishes,

Carolyn Parsell
