SPOTLIGHT

Spotlight

This term Year 4 have been reading the novel 'Fantastic Mr Fox'. This has included creating a new farmer to support Farmer Bunce, Farmer Boggis and Farmer Bean to try and destoy the sly fox who is stealing all their produce. The children needed to include dialogue to show the personality of the new farmer.

After three weeks of planning a setting, new character,  a complication and series of events to try and starve Mr Fox and his family out, the children completed a Big Write. Attempts to bomb him out, starve him, blow him to pieces, fill his hole with trash and stink him out all failed with Mr Fox successfully finding an alternative way to provide for his family.

In Art we were given half of Mr Fox's face and were challenged to complete a symmetrical match of the face including trying to match colours.

In Science we have been researching how products get from 'Paddock to Plate' including planning our own hypothetical garden that incorporated technology.

In History we have been on a journey back to the age of exploration with Ferdinand Majellan, Zhang He and Vasco Da Gama.
