The GS Roos - Soccer

The GS Roos had a great game last week but it was a challenging one. It was a loss 1-8. There were some good shots at goals and plenty of time in our forward but a tough defence stopped us scoring. Aarav was a really good goalie stopping some tough shots at goals. We didn't give up. We kept on trying.

Huge thanks to Coach Lauren Rofe for her support, guidance, and enthusiasm every step of the way.

GS Warriors

27/03/25

This week the Warriors were up against the top team Pedare Lightning, and after narrowly losing last time out by four points the Warriors were determined to demonstrate their improvement.  The game was a very tight affair with the Warriors trailing by 2 points for the majority, but our strong and determined defence, and quick passing in offence, ensured the score remained close allowing us to take the lead with 3 minutes remaining.  The lightning came at the Warriors strong in the last 3 minutes to try and regain the lead but the Warriors determination in defence and some crucial baskets in offence allowed us to hold on and claim the victory 16-14.

After a great performance and win against the top team last week the Warriors faced another tough test against Pedare Thunder.  The team continued where they left off last week and were harassing the Thunder whenever they had the ball forcing plenty of turn overs.  In offence the Warriors took a while to find their rhythm turn the ball over themselves a few times before taking a hold of the game.  The Warriors lead 20-12 at half time and never looked back with some strong defence and solid work in attack the Warriors ran out 31-19 winners.
