Care and Connection

Thank you and Farewell

As we farewell Janine Panagiotou, our Senior Wellbeing and Learning Enrichment Teacher, we do so with deep gratitude for her care, dedication, and unwavering support of our students, families, and staff.

Janine’s calm presence, wisdom, and heart for wellbeing have made a lasting impact on our school community. She has walked alongside so many with empathy and grace, always putting people first.

We thank Janine for her service to Good Shepherd and wish her every blessing as she beings this next chapter in her life.

Happy School Holidays

Wishing our school community a happy and safe school holiday break.

This Easter, may you all have a wonderful time celebrating God's love for us, reflecting on Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross, and finally, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, signifying God inviting us to live with Him again.

EASTER DIY Bracelet and Story Packs

As Easter is during the school holidays, GSPV wanted to provide every student with some things they can explore and do to celebrate Easter with their families.

This week each child would have received a pack which includes the resources needed to make an Easter story bracelet, along with a Hot Cross Buns information and recipe booklet from the Lutheran Tract Mission

We hope this provides families with an opportunity to connect and share the message of Easter.

KAPS (Kid’s and Parents) Events

Pop this in your diary now! Our next KAPS event is April 27th from 4pm will be having a games afternoon. This is a wonderful opportunity for families to reconnect with friends (and maybe even make new friends) before the term gets underway. It is literally the afternoon before school returns for Term 2... It won’t be a late night. Save the date and invite your friends and family! Look forward to seeing you...

URSTRONG Parent Resource - Empathy and Friendships

In the world of friendship, empathy is key in building and nurturing healthy connections. Dr Susan David, Harvard Medical School Psychologist, shares these important distinctions:

Sympathy: "I'm sorry you're in pain."

Empathy: "I can imagine what your pain feels like."

Compassion: "How can I help ease your pain?"

Understanding the developmental stages of empathy in friendships helps your child step into the shoes of others and truly imagine how their friends are feeling...
