Book week | Update

Book Week 2024. 

Our theme this year of “Reading is Magic” has certainly been relevant as I am still feeling the buzz from last week. I had a lot of FOMO as I was on leave and missed out on all the magic! Luckily, students have been filling me in this week about their costumes, how much they enjoyed the interactive story telling sessions and have discovered new books to read. 

The Young Authors have had the opportunity this year to participate in the CBCA Shadow Judging Program. Our category was Picture Books and the students, Jess Norris and I have had amazing discussions about these books, got to vote for our favourite and we are finishing our creative responses to upload to their website. We have been very lucky to have Ruth Oppenheim come in and mentor us through this process. Thank you, Ruth. 

Next year’s theme has been announced: “Book an Adventure” which is a great theme to explore!
