Father's Day
WPA Father's Day Stall
Next week, we have the WPA fathers day stall on Friday 30 September. Students will be taken through the stall, and gifts will be available for purchase from $1-$8.
We thank Kate Allen, Linh Krygger, Eileen Rawstron, and the many parent volunteers kindly supporting the stall.
Wishing our community members all the best as you acknowledge Father's Day. Thank you to the fathers, father figures and special people in our community that support and love our students.
We hope that you enjoy the breakfast in bed, cuddles and hand made cards, from your little loves. We also acknowledge that this day can be challenging for many people for various reasons and we hope that you take good care of yourself in the lead up to Sunday 1 September, and afterwards.

We are very proud to share that we the building is almost completed.
In the new building we will have 6 classrooms, as well as the art room, music room, spanish room, STEM space, staffroom, school office, conference room, 2 x meeting rooms, and gender neutral/all access toilet facilities.
Year 4 classes, Rachel's year 5 class, specialist teachers and our office staff are now decanting, preparing to move into the new building throughout the final 2 weeks of term.
Over the holiday break asbestos removal will occur, and demolition will begin, and at such time the TheirCare Holiday program will be relocating to another school.
We will be operating out of the new building from the beginning of term four! Watch this space for a community open afternoon where parents will have an opportunity to walk through the building.
The progress is great and the most recent site walk was very pleasing. See below for photos! We are on the home stretch now.
BOOK WEEK
Book Week Costume Parade
This is a reminder about the Book Week Parade tomorrow morning, Friday 23 August at 9:05am on the soccer pitch. Students and staff members will have the opportunity to dress up, using a book as inspiration. They may dress as their favourite character, in the theme of a book or inspired by the front cover of a book.
Parents and siblings are very welcome to attend and watch the parade.
Book Week
This week, Wembley Primary School and the Children's Book Council of Australia. (CBCA) is celebrating Book Week.
We are excited to be acknowledging Australian children's authors and illustrators, and have had a wonderful week of engaging learning activities across the school. This years' theme is 'Reading is Magic'.
You will see the AMAZINGLY creative door displays across the school, that all students and staff members have excitedly contributed to!
Author Visits
Each year we organise for Australian authors to come and visit Wembley Primary School. They engage the students with presentations about their writing process, idea generation and inspiration, while answering the many questions that are asked by our enthusiastic readers!
This year, the following authors are presenting to our students:
Tuesday 20 August: Ailsa Wild ('Small Friends' series, 'The Naughtiest Pixie' series and many more) for students in Years 3 - 6
Thursday 22 August: Emma Bowd ('This Is My Happy Place', 'Wonderful Shoes', 'The Day You Were Born', and more) for students in Prep to Year 2.
It has been a fun-filled week, celebrating literacy, literature, authors and illustrators.
I'd like to thank Carmel Manning and the Whole School Events Committee for coordinating the Book Week festivities and celebrations.
Wembley Parents Association WPA - THANK YOU
I would like to thank Linh Krygger president of the WPA, and the many community volunteers that support our school. Not only is there a wonderful community spirit, however the support received from fundraising will support all students, in maximising the building project's break out seating this year!
An enormous effort that we are immensely proud of, and grateful for.
