Connect: Year 4
welCongratulations, Grade 4s, on a fantastic Term 3! It's hard to believe how quickly the term has flown by, but you've all done an amazing job. From the fun and excitement of Green and Gold Day, to the creativity and joy of Book Week, and the outstanding performances during the school concert 'Dreamweaver,' you've made so many wonderful memories. Well done, and we can't wait to see what the next term brings!
Camp
As well as the permission form and payment on the QKR app. We need all medical and dietary forms by Monday 16th to form cabins, activity groups and provide camp with final numbers.
Celebration of Learning
Concert
Our Grade 4 students absolutely shined brightly at the 'Dreamweaver' concert, performing a lively rendition of "I'm a Believer" in their fun fairytale costumes! Many said they were the fairy-tale standouts of the night, and we couldn’t agree more—what a magical performance!
Kitchen Garden
A huge thank you to Mrs. Furlong for the tremendous effort she puts into bringing delicious recipes to life with our students each week! The meals they create are nothing short of incredible. Her dedication makes our kitchen garden sessions a truly wonderful experience for everyone!
Inquiry
The Grade 4 students continue to explore our new Inquiry topic ‘Types of Forces’. Over the next week and into Term 4, students will be working in small groups to conduct a range of experiments to learn and understand the different types of forces that occur and how they can be exerted. Students will learn how they can notice the different types of forces in their daily lives and then use them when creating solutions to problems. This week students started to design their own pinwheel which will later be used in an experiment exploring wind power.
Wellbeing
Our Wellbeing program continues to incorporate the work completed from our Berry Street program to support students’ self-regulation, relationships and wellbeing at school, both in the classroom and out in the yard during recess and lunchtime. This in conjunction with the School Wide Positive Behaviours has been an important focus and will continue to be throughout Term 4. Over the next week and into Term 4, the four R’s that being our ‘resilience, rights, and respectful relationships’ program, will continue to explore and build on our developing knowledge around Topic 7 – ‘Gender and Identity’ and Topic 8 – ‘Positive Gender Relations’.
