U15 BBI Boys Basketball Team: A Season of Determination and Growth

The U15 BBI Boys basketball team wrapped up their second season in the competition with a commendable performance, finishing second on the Winter Season ladder as they headed into the finals. This achievement reflected their hard work, perseverance, and continuous improvement throughout the season.

In their final match against the formidable Green Lynx, the boys showed tremendous grit, despite a slow start in the first quarter. The game was an intense battle, with both teams exchanging leads in a nail-biting finish. The final two minutes were particularly thrilling, with the shot clock and game clock stopping nearly every five seconds, amplifying the tension on court.

Ultimately, the U15 boys narrowly fell short, losing 35-31 in a fiercely contested match. Despite the loss, the team’s spirit remained unbroken, and they are already looking forward to the summer season, eager to challenge themselves once again and build on their successes.

Armed with this season's experiences, the U15 BBI Basketball team is more determined than ever to return stronger.

Countdown to the QGSSSA Track and Field Championships: A Closer Look at the Final Preparations

With each passing day, the excitement surrounding the Queensland Girls' Secondary Schools Sports Association (QGSSSA) Track and Field Championships intensifies. Our athletes are entering the final stages of preparation, having dedicated hours to training, honing their skills, and refining their techniques for this year's event. As the championships approach, our relay teams are meticulously refining their baton exchanges, determined to achieve flawless handoffs and deliver their best results.

The road to the QGSSSA Track and Field Championships has been paved with a focus on perfecting both skill and technique. From sprinting and hurdling to jumping and throwing, each event demands a unique set of skills, and our team has been working diligently to enhance every aspect of their performance.

In the sprints, our athletes have concentrated on explosive starts and maintaining optimal form throughout the race. Hurdlers have been perfecting their approach to clearing barriers with maximum efficiency, while throwers have been refining their techniques to achieve personal bests. Meanwhile, our jumpers have been reaching new heights, carefully fine-tuning their run-ups to ensure powerful and precise take-offs.

The relays are where teamwork and precision come into focus. A seamless baton exchange is crucial for success, and our relay teams have been rigorously rehearsing to ensure every pass is flawless. Every exchange has been practiced, with a shared commitment to shaving off every fraction of a second. The cohesion and camaraderie within these teams have been inspiring, setting the stage for improved performances on championship day.

Beyond the technical preparations, our athletes have embraced a spirit of healthy competition, not just among themselves but also with competitors from other schools at the Friday night Lead-Up Meets. This environment has been invaluable in challenging our athletes and forging bonds that transcend the track.

With the final days upon us, the buzz of anticipation continues to build. Our athletes are ready to showcase their training and our relay teams are primed.

We invite our community to come together in support of our athletes. Let’s show the true spirit of CC by cheering them on as they step onto the track. Parents, caregivers, and students—your presence and encouragement mean the world to our athletes. Together, let’s make this a memorable day of competition. Go CC!
