Student Voice : Heights Campus
We have finished 5 weeks of Term 3 and everybody seems to have been enjoying all the exciting events so far.
In the MLC, they have focused on the Olympics during Mathematics. They have been participating in different Olympic events whilst learning Maths skills. They have learnt about time, length and subtraction. Winners of each event were awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal! Speaking of the Olympics, Australia placed 4th with a total of 53 medals!
The MLC were also lucky enough to get a free STEM incursion from Boeing Aerostructures Australia, which involved students collaborating to create a rocket which was then launched to see how far it would travel. Congratulations to the winning team whose rocket travelled the furthest!
Last week, the SLC had an incursion on Cyber Safety. The students were informed about how to keep themselves and others safe online. Kiah, the Cyber Safety host, shared many online stories about herself and others. Everyone learnt so much during this incursion.
On Tuesday the 20th, it was the Book Week Parade for the Heights Campus. In the morning, we had a fantastic parade where all the students showed their marvellous costumes. There were many creative and colourful costumes from teachers and students. After the parade, parents were invited to participate with and observe students while they did a reading activity back in their classroom related to Book Week. Everyone enjoyed Book Week so much.
Congratulations to the two winning class door displays, it was such a hard decision as all classes have done such a BRILLIANT job on their door displays this year!
We hope everyone is enjoying Term 3 so far and make sure to keep warm!
