Snapshots from Springvale Campus
As we hit the mid-term mark, it’s a great time to acknowledge and celebrate the learning progress our students are continuing to make each and every day. I am always excited to visit different classrooms to hear about the learning goals everyone is achieving, from skip counting to word recognition, all the way to adding fractions and writing persuasive paragraphs. I also get just as excited to visit teachers when they work in their Professional Learning Teams to review each student’s achievements and areas for growth, ensuring that everyone is supported to finish the term strong. Well done to each and every student and teacher! Let's continue to achieve many more great things together!
We were especially excited to celebrate Book Week this week, a highlight of our school calendar that brings together our love for reading and learning in the most delightful way. Our Springvale Campus was transformed into a vibrant literary world with special door displays that depicted books different classes were studying. Classrooms were buzzing with discussions about themes, characters and different author techniques. On Wednesday our campus was filled with heroes, heroines, villains and whimsical creatures as the students and teachers came dressed as their favourite book characters. I hope this special week has sparked a continued passion for reading and learning in all our students.
Where is Wally?
Last week, our JLC and FLC playground on Springvale Campus, welcomed another fantastic new addition that has already sparked creativity and exploration in our young learners: A Sensory Table! A Sensory Table is a learning tool designed to engage children through touch, sight, sound and sometimes even smell. It’s filled with a variety of materials and objects such as pebbles, sand, shells and acorns that encourage hands-on play and exploration. It provides endless opportunities for sensory experiences that are both fun and educational. The table has been a hub of activity this week with students working and playing alongside each other. We’re excited to see the joy and learning that this new learning and playing tool will continue to bring to our students.
Have a great couple of weeks everyone and keep being amazing!
Take care!
