Art - Years 3-6
This week we had a messy but fun session applying Modroc plaster to our model bases to create our Paper Mache Pets. It’s quite a tricky task really and I thought the students did a fantastic job. We will complete them next week, then paint and varnish them.
This week we were also very lucky to have a visit from Emma Stuart who ran Art workshops with all our students. Emma now lives in Dunkeld and is an author and illustrator of children’s books as well as a landscape artist. She has now illustrated around 200 children’s books, including for the Enid Blyton estate and Princess Fergie. Emma taught us how to use watercolour paints and some different effects we could create. We painted an assortment of leaves and were very proud of our results. She also showed us some of the process she goes through in the process of illustrating a book. I know some of our children were quite inspired by the possibilities of being a writer or illustrator.
Come in to the school and see some of our great art work!
