A Glimpse into Year 7 Robotic Systems

As part of their STEM curriculum, Year 7 students are learning to design, build, and program their robots – a hands-on project that brings together creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

Students were introduced to the components of a simple robotic system and to basic coding principles used to control the system. Using block-based coding, they have grasped the essentials of autonomous robot control. This is setting the stage for more complex tasks in which the students must modify and program their robots to interact with their environment to perform specific tasks. Along the way, they encounte challenges that require them to think critically, troubleshoot, and iterate on their designs. These moments of trial and error are invaluable learning experiences for them.
