CONTEMPORARY MUSIC CONCERT

Last week, we held our annual Contemporary Concert in the Auditorium. However, this year instead of hosting a concert evening for parents, we decided to have it during the school day with the audience being made up of year 7's. 

We heard performances from some school Rock trios, the Year 11 cohort, The Celtic Ensemble, Drum Club as well as a couple of solo performances. We also had a great performance from our Junior Stage band. 

Thanks to all the students for putting on a great show and for all the staff who supported the event. 

VSMF STAGE BAND

Last Tuesday Mr. McGuffie took the Vermont Stage Band to the Hawthorn Town Hall to compete in the Victorian School Music Festival. The band played 'You Got A Friend in Me' by Randy Newman, 'October Rain' by Vince Gassi and 'Sambeando' by Victor Lopez and received some wonderful feedback and commentary from American Band leader, teacher and musician Bethany Robinson. 

We are very proud to announce that our band won GOLD this year. It is the first year that we have taken Gold in this category. 

Well done to the highly dedicated students who make up our Stage Band and to Mr. McGuffie for all his efforts throughout the year. Huge congratulations to all.
