Vermont Secondary School

German Poetry Competition

On Wednesday 31st July, a group of talented poets from Years 7-9 ventured to Mullauna Secondary College to compete in the annual German Poetry Competition.

For the competition, students were required to memorise and recite a German poem in front of two judges, focusing on correct pronunciation, intonation, phrasing, interpretation and insight. Naturally, there were some nerves, but everyone spoke beautifully.

Mullauna, Emmaus and Heathmont College were tough competition, but Vermont students excelled, with five students heading off to the State Final on Saturday 24th August!

Frau Paydon, Frau Avard, Frau Lehmann and Frau Kioussis are very proud of everyone who competed - Bravo!
