Total Wellbeing
Mindfulness and Art Therapy by the Merri Creek
Throughout Week 5, the Year 10 Total Wellbeing students learnt about Mindfulness and Art Therapy. On Tuesday last week, the class spent their practical class walking along the Merri Creek, searching for the perfect rock to paint in their next lesson. The students enjoyed searching for their rock and then washing it in the creek. On Thursday, the students let their creativity run wild throughout their Art Therapy double. Each student painted their own rock (some painted multiple!) and enjoyed having time to relax and focus on the task at hand.
"To be honest I'm not an artsy person or someone who is super creative. In this subject I have felt that my creative sense has been brought out with this activity relaxing myself and the people around me, I entered a sense of flow and I never felt so relaxed." - Kai Parreno Year 10
