From the Principal

As I step into the role of Acting Principal for the next seven weeks, I’ve been reflecting on the truth that schools are about the people who give generously of their time and talents to create success.
We saw that this week at the Athletics Carnival: a bitterly cold day, with the sun doing its best to make brief guest appearances, the event was a telling reminder that community is built when people show up regardless. Despite the conditions, students stepped up - running, jumping and cheering one another on.
Staff ensured the day ran seamlessly, supporting every student from the record-breakers to those raising House spirit. Their commitment extended well beyond the day itself, with many staff giving additional time and energy to make the event possible. The impact that staff can have on creating meaningful experiences was certainly not lost on the Year 7 student, who at the end of the day, took the time to personally thank his Head of Year, the Sports Coordinator and myself for how much he had enjoyed himself.
Then came our Drama Production, where we saw talent in full colour and volume. Our Double Trouble Shakespeare production brought wit and mischief. Students embraced the challenge, bringing the various stories to life with flair. Staff - once again - gave their time to help shape performances and build confidence.
At Lumen Christi, these moments provide opportunities for every student to shine in different ways, be it on the stage, on the track, or through quiet participation and persistence.
With our staff making things possible every step of the way.
God Bless,
Sheldon McIntyre
Acting Principal
