"Pure Joy"
It is hard to believe that our Kindergarten students have already completed their first semester of school! Over the past six months, we have been delighted to watch them grow in confidence, develop new skills and become increasingly independent learners.
On July 30th we will celebrate one hundred days at school.
Thank you for the important role you play in supporting your child's independence.
Public Education Week 2026 is the first week of August. Public Education Week is a time to come together and celebrate the strength, diversity and achievements of NSW public education. Every day at Carlingford West PS we aim to inspire student excellence.
We will be opening our school to celebrate our learning on Wednesday 5th August. Please join us for the following;
10.30-11.30 am- Open Classrooms (please visit your child in their classroom)
11.30-12.30 pm- Picnic on the school grounds
11.30-12.30 pm- Band and choir performances, gallery walks for art, Chinese poetry, and shared reading in the library.

We will be allowing our Year 2 students to visit our canteen during second half lunch if they would like to purchase a snack. Please see the canteen section for more information about what they can purchase.
In our school everyone belongs and strives for the highest standards of learning. The attached Student Code of Conduct will begin to be explicitly taught next term in our school by our class teachers.
The posters below will be visible and on display in all of our classrooms.

At Carlingford West Public School, we are proud to offer Modern Languages as part of our curriculum to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Learning a modern language helps students develop communication skills, cultural understanding, and an appreciation for diversity. Our current language offerings include Chinese, Korean, and Hindi.
Parents and carers can support their child's language learning by encouraging practice at home through conversations, songs, games, and exploring cultural connections. Embracing languages at Carlingford West enriches our students’ learning and opens doors to a world of possibilities!

We remind students and families to use pedestrian crossings. They are the safest way to cross the road. We have two turning circles that students can walk around to get to the other side of the road. Students should not be running across the road at either the East or West Turning Circle.

Parents and carers play a vital role in keeping children safe on the road. A child who is properly secured in an approved child car seat is less likely to be killed or injured in a crash.
Children aged from four years old but under seven years old cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with two or more rows, unless all other back seats are occupied by children younger than seven years in an approved child restraint or booster seat.
Transport for NSW fact sheets
We have an increasing number of students being dropped in the Turning Circle after the bell. Please allow extra time in the morning for drop off as there is high traffic. Please follow the usual Turning Circle procedures during morning drop off.
School supervision commences at 8:55am each day. Students should not be at school before this time unless they are enrolled into TASK.
Please see TASK News section in this Newsletter for contact and booking information.
If you need to leave for work before 8:55am please book your child into TASK.
School finishes at 3:25pm and you need to collect your child/ren then or have them booked into TASK.
